BYU Failed?

15 laps, and despite the mind and soul pleading, the body said it was done.

The last lap took well over an hour, so that’s the DNF

Got to the final 17 participants out of 87. Not bad for my first BYU. Just 13 went out on the next lap. But the elevation and the hills were something else. Excuses, but I would have potentially done it on the flat… or so the Race Director told me as I licked my wounds on the chair. The legs have proper seized up, worse than any event I’ve ever done… so getting up should be fun 😂🙈

Obviously disappointed, but my event would have ended at lap 7 or 8 if it wasn’t for the crew I had because I… well, we’ll leave some stories for the @anygivenrundaypodcast in the next few days

@niamhyoc @lawlesseric @eskelly7, I can’t thank you enough for today. I may as well have been an F1 car, in the pit stop every hour, being fueled and put in the best shape possible to tackle the next lap.

@barrow_valley_runner was a phenomenal running partner; you’re gonna crush it in the Four Nations Ultra in a few weeks.

It’s not failure, it’s the first attempt. The 100 miles in 24 hours will happen. Just not this weekend
