Any diet can work if you are in a calorie deficit*

How has your diet goals gone so far for 2020?

We all live in our own social media bubble. And through that, we get different information that we base our beliefs on. Some swear by the paleo diet, some low carb, carnivore, vegan etc.

And then there are Personal Trainers that promote that they all work because they all follow a calorie deficit.

While that statement is true at its core, to me, it implies that it doesn’t matter what you do but it’s a lot more complicated than that in my opinion.

How do you feel on certain “diets” and are they sustainable long term are the more important questions. IIFYM works. But if I have to input everything into my phone that I eat and weigh all my food, it would drive me up the wall. But for others, this accountability may be perfect. Fasting? My work schedule has me start the morning at 6am, finish after 10pm some nights. It’s not straight through, my point is that it would be hard to fit an 8 hour or 10 hour window in the middle of that without being hungry in the morning or after work at night. But if you are working 9-5 and aren’t much of a breakfast eater, you could easily make it work.

I could do this for all of them but you get the point. Yes, the result is a calorie deficit but have a serious look at your food choices, work schedule, what the diet is leading to and whether it has long term sustainability before deciding on a potentially healthier food options.
