"Get Over Yourself"

“Get over yourself”

One of the topics in this week’s episode of the Coach Seán Fitness Podcast is getting over the fear of failure. I talk about how the podcast its self is getting about over the fear of failure. Trying to get comfortable putting myself out there and trying to articulate thoughts while staring at a microphone and laptop. This is apart of the video, in particular, that I refer to in the podcast (you can check it out on Spotify or Apple Podcast now).

Some weeks are easier than others. And it’s like that with all challenges. Especially fitness ones where it is more obvious to see someone “fail”.

The perception of what people might think if you fail at running a race, completely an obstacle course, participating in a sport is much greater than what actually happens.

If you fail, no one remembers. It’s a moment that is very soon forgotten about. As Kobe said, “get over yourself”.

An exercise I read online recently about failure talked about the next time you cringe at a memory, think about someone else. Now think about their biggest failure/cringe moment. Chances are, you won’t be able to immediately think about something. And that’s the point.

If you fail, no one remembers. But you’re already well ahead once you try.
